Equestrian Yoga?


When I picked up riding after a long hiatus (camp at Red Raider http://bluemoonstable.com/ in Novelty, Ohio...fast forward 20 years to 1996), it was difficult because as an adult, one tends to lose some of the muscle/tendon flexibility, and most importantly "fly by the seat of your pants" mentality that one has as a child. It seemed to me that the most logical step to take towards calm, balanced riding would be yoga. It all makes sense...Yoga/Riding=breathing, balance, calmness. Add all these things together, and you arrive at the most important "=" your relationship with your equine friend. Now, you've got to have a sound friend with a sense of humor...so don't try this with your new off-the-track thoroughbred!
